Fire crews are assessing damage at a Plant City welding business and warehouse after an overnight fire.

  • Fire broke out early Tuesday morning at JJ's Welding and Repair Shop
  • Firefighters quickly brought fire under control
  • No injuries reported

Plant City Fire responded just after 3 a.m. to JJ's Welding and Repair Shop at 4405 Business Lane, which is off Turkey Creek Road.  

Firefighters were able to douse flames and quickly bring the fire under control.

According to officials, the fire was mostly in the front of the 5,000-square-foot metal building, which houses the welding business and a warehouse.

There was a partial collapse to the roof and side in one corner of the structure. Other parts of the building sustained smoke and fire damage though officials most of the structural damage was in the front of the structure.

There were no injuries reported.

Officials are investigating how the fire started.
