A new luxury 18-story condo tower with sweeping views of downtown St. Petersburg's waterfront has nearly sold out eight months before it's scheduled to open.

  • Average price of condo is around $1 million
  • Bliss scheduled to open in December

“We’re absolutely excited about Bliss," said Dave Traynor, vice president for Smith & Associates Real Estate. "A high rise which really is unique in itself."

Bliss will be the first condo tower in the Bay area to feature two vehicular elevators for its four-story parking garage. The only unit left for sale is the two-story penthouse.

"The penthouse is $2.9 million and it’s 4,300 square feet. Four bedrooms and four-and-a-half baths," Traynor said. “You’re going to have absolutely spectacular views looking over Beach Drive."

Developer Taub Entities, run by Brian and Debbie Taub, broke ground on Bliss, located at 176 Fourth Ave NE, last June. New construction in that area is in high demand, according to Traynor.

“There is very few condos available on Beach Drive," he said. “Any given day, if you look at the inventory of the 700-plus available condominiums, there’s only about 5-to-15 for sale."

Traynor said the hot market for luxury condos extends to the rest of downtown St. Petersburg and the inventory is shrinking before the new construction is even complete.

"Only a few at Salvador, which is another new development... and then One St. Petersburg. After that, we don’t see any opportunities coming anytime in the near future," he said. "Last year, we had about 500 new construction condominiums in the corridor of downtown St. Pete. Now we’re less than 150 total."

The average price for a condo at Bliss is around $1 million. Each floor has two units separated by elevators and the top floor features a rooftop deck with Jacuzzi and a Sky Lounge.

Bliss is scheduled to open in December.
