A Crystal River resident and two dogs died in a mobile home fire early Sunday morning.

Citrus Sheriff Fire Rescue responded to the fire on the 8200 block of West Fairoak Court at 12:46 a.m.

Crews arrived to find the home engulfed in flames and smoke. Firefighters found one victim deceased inside the residence along with two large dogs.

Engines from Connell Heights, Crystal River, Homosassa, Pine Ridge and DeRosa, arrived on-scene to assist. Crews were able to bring the fire under control within eight minutes.

"It is hard to put into words just how difficult it is to lose someone like this," said Battalion Chief L.J. White.  "We are praying for the family and friends who have lost this loved one."

The State Fire Marshal was contacted to respond and investigate. At this time, however, the fire does not look suspicious.

The victim's name is not being released yet due to the investigation.
