A gourmet seasoning company headquartered in Lakeland is preparing to debut in a major retailer.

  • My Family’s Seasonings, Inc. based out of Lakeland
  • Wal-Mart will sell the product in 2017
  • Publix has been selling it since 2012

In 2017, My Family’s Seasonings, Inc. will be sold in Wal-Mart, according to owner, Christine Quinn.

"The product speaks for itself. I don't even have to sell it. I just have to have people taste it. So once you taste it, you will be my customer for life,” said Christine Quinn.

Quinn moved the company to Lakeland when Publix started selling her product back in 2012.

“Being in Lakeland and being right around the corner from Publix has opened so many doors for me,” said Christine Quinn.

Quinn is ecstatic about Wal-Mart opening its doors to her.

“This is the best opportunity,” she said. “You know what, you doubt yourself sometimes, especially as a woman in business and you go through ups and downs, am I going to make it? Am I going to make it? Because the margins are small and we have to do volume, so getting into Publix allowed me to do that volume. “

Quinn said her natural, gluten-free seasonings are her mother's secret family recipe. For years, she used the recipe to make prime rib for friends. It wasn’t until later in life at a New Year's Eve party that her friends inspired her to turn the secret recipe into a business. It’s been growing ever since.

"I've been in business for 10 years and I've always said it's the turtle that wins the race,” she said. “Slow and steady."

Besides selling seasonings in Wal-Mart, she’s also increasing her sales online.
