A 31-year-old Okeechobee man is facing charges of video voyeurism after an incident at University Mall.

  • Johnathan Rogers, 31, charged with video voyeurism
  • Accused of photographing up women's skirts at University Mall
  • Authorities said Rogers admitted to taking the pictures

Johnathan Rogers was taken into custody Monday at the mall, located on Fowler Avenue, after authorities said he used his phone to take photos up women's skirts.

According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, Rogers was observed and recorded walking through the Sears and Macy's department stores at the mall. Officials said Rogers was seen standing behind the victims and then using his phone to photograph up the victims' skirts.

Rogers was confronted by mall security, detained and eventually brought to the loss prevention office in Macy's.

Authorities said Rogers admitted to photographing up one woman's skirt.

Rogers was arrested and charged with two counts of video voyeurism. Officials said a search warrant will be obtained to retrieve information from the phone.
