  • Deputies say he tried to sexually assault her, hit her repeated in the face
  • Passersby interrupted the attack, deputies say

Adam Silva Millan, 49, went into the woman's home Wednesday afternoon to do electrical work, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office. He left the house, then told the woman he would return to fix something he'd broken.

Deputies say that when he returned, he told the woman to go to the garage and flip a switch in the electrical panel. The woman went to the panel, and deputies say Millan grabbed her from behind.

Millan, who was armed with a knife, put his arm around her neck and pulled her to the ground, deputies said.

According to investigators, the woman struggled and screamed for help as Millan held her down and started tearing at her shorts and underwear. He tried to put electrical tape over her mouth while she screamed, deputies said.

At some point, Millan lost his grip on the knife, dropping it, then started hitting the woman repeatedly in the face, deputies said.

Two passersby heard the struggle and came to the woman's aid, interrupting the attack, deputies said.

The woman's nose was broken during the attack, and she received a laceration on her knee that required stitches, deputies said.

Millan left the scene in his gray Toyota Corolla. Deputies obtained a warrant for his arrest and took him into custody at his house.

The woman identified Millan as the person who attacked her and said he'd been to her home three weeks prior to provide an estimate, deputies said.

Millan is facing charges of burglary with battery upon a person, attempted sexual battery with a deadly weapon and aggravated battery with permanent disfigurement/great bodily harm.
