A 69-year-old woman remains hospitalized after being struck by an SUV in Dunedin.

According to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office, Lucinda Caughey was crossing Patricia Avenue in a marked pedestrian crosswalk just south of Admiral Road just after 5 p.m. when she was hit.

Investigators said the 25-year-old female driver of a Honda SUV did not see Caughey crossing the street. Caughey ended up pinned under the vehicle.

She was taken by helicopter to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Officials said the driver appeared to be driving the speed limit and she showed no signs of impairment.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
