The center of Tropical Depression Bonnie made landfall just east of Charleston, South Carolina, on the Isle of Palms around 8:30 a.m.

At 11 a.m., it is about 30 miles NNE of Charleston. It’s forecast to remain inland over northeastern South Carolina through Monday.
Heavy rain will continue to be a threat with Bonnie in parts of Georgia and the Carolinas through the holiday weekend. The heavy rain will be moving into parts of the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast.
Dangerous surf and rip currents along portions of the southeastern United States coast will continue through Monday.
The storm is no threat to Florida.
