But while you’re enjoying the holiday, don’t forget to protect your belongings.
According to Allstate Insurance, boat thefts are on the rise, with Florida ranking number one in the country for boat-related claims.
Agent David Beck warns boat owners to always lock up their boats and take expensive equipment inside after each use. Also, Beck said insurance coverage is key, should you become the victim of theft.
“Not only for the boat itself, but also for the proper equipment,” Beck said. “Portable GPS devices and even life preservers. They’re not inexpensive.”
