Hundreds of frozen fruit and vegetable products - including some from Trader Joe's - are being recalled nationwide due to concerns about Listeria.

CRF Frozen Foods of Pasco, Washington is expanding its voluntary recall of frozen organic and traditional fruits and vegetables.

  • Recall affects 358 products sold under 42 brands
  • Brands include Trader Joe's, Columbia River Organics, Organic by Nature and Earth's Pride
  • Products have potential to be contaminated with Listeria

Officials say the products have the potential to be contaminated with Listeria, which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people and others with weakened immune systems. Listeria can also cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.

The recall affects 358 products sold under 42 separate brands, including Trader Joe's, Columbia River Organics, Organic by Nature and Earth's Pride.

The recall includes all of the frozen fruit and vegetable products manufactured or processed since May 1, 2014, and the products will have best by or sell by dates between April 26, 2016 and April 26, 2018.

CRF has already suspended operations at its facility following the recall so a thorough review can be conducted, officials say.
