Rainfall in the Bay area Wednesday set records for this time of year, particularly in Hillsborough and Manatee Counties

At Tampa International Airport, as of 10 p.m. rainfall totalled 2.79 inches. The previous record was 1.40 inches, set in 1978. It remains to be seen what the new record will be, as more rainfall at TPA before midnight is expected.

Meanwhile, Sarasota/Bradenton International Airport saw 3.40 inches of rain as of 10 p.m. The previous record there was 1.32 inches, set in 1949. Again, with more rain on the way before midnight, the new record there remains to be seen.
