This weekend is the first "Jeepin’ 4 Justice" fundraiser, and organizers say they’re already planning for a bigger event next year.

More than 100 jeeps came through on Saturday, and organizations expect more on Sunday.

“It’s been a great, great experience,” said Tina Farrell, who organized the event.

Farrell worked with the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office to host "Jeepin’ 4 Justice" at Safety Town. Each car pays a fee to get in, and they have access to a dirt track with hills and obstacles.

There is also a festival area set up in Safety Town with local vendors and other nonprofits. The fundraiser raises money for the Pasco County Sheriff’s K9 unit and other organizations.

“The K9 unit is super important,” Farrell said. “We all know what they do and they risk our lives for us.”

Among the other organizations "Jeepin' 4 Justice" benefits are Racing4Vets, Safety Town, and a number of local domestic violence shelters.

“We kind of hit a little bit of everything,” Farrell said. “We’re helping out different areas of the community that need help.”

The event features a raffle to win a free Jeep -- that drawing will be held on Sunday.
