The road work along U.S. 41 north of Brooksville is now complete.
- U.S. 41 was repaved and drainage pipes were cleaned out
- Work on the roadway started back in November
- The project cost about $2.9 million, transportation officials say
Cars are back to cruising along that stretch of road. Several improvements have been made. About five miles of the popular road has been repaved, drainage pipes were cleaned out and crews also installed some guardrails.
John Boudette is glad the work is all done.
“We have lived here about 20 years in Hernando County and probably seven or eight times a year we come up through this way just for a drive and this is much better than it used to be,” he said.
Work started last November and just wrapped up a few days ago.
Transportation officials say the project cost about $2.9 million. The work was done between County Road 481 and the Citrus line.
