The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is investigating a fatal shooting in Tampa.
Deputies responded to the Manhattan Palms Apartments Friday just after 9 a.m. to calls of a shooting. The complex is located at 7210 North Manhattan Avenue.
Officials said that two people were shot at the apartments and one died. One person was rushed to an area hospital. That person remains in critical condition.
Deputies have not released details of the shooting, saying only that neighbors heard several bangs Friday morning. Officials did not say if the victims were targeted.
A helicopter was seen flying over the complex early Friday afternoon as deputies searched the surroinding areas with K-9s.
"There was an individual, a dark-skinned male, that was onserved running from the scene," said HCSO Col. Donna Lusczynski. "We don't know his involvement at this time. We're asking anyone with information to come forward and contact the sheriff's office."
