Rain is spreading across the coast of Mexico this morning.

An Air Force Hurricane Hunter aircraft investigating indicates the maximum sustained winds have increased to near 45 mph with higher gusts.

After landfall, weakening over the mountainous terrain of eastern Mexico is likely, and the system should dissipate on Tuesday.

The storm is expected to produce total rainfall accumulations of 6 to 10 inches with isolated maximum amounts of 15 inches possible in higher terrain over parts of Mexico which could cause life-threatening flash floods and mud slides.
