A Largo man was arrested and charged with DUI after rear-ending a police cruiser early Sunday morning.

Police say 44-year-old Micah Sieder hit the cruiser which was directing traffic in a posted construction zone with the officer's emergency lights on and workers present.

The crash happened shortly after 1 a.m. at 9517 Ulmerton Road.

Police say Sieder was unsteady on his feet and his speech was slurred, mumbled and incoherent at times. Police said his eyes were bloodshot, glassy, and watery and he had a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his mouth.

Police said his blood alcohol content was .225 more than three hours after the crash occurred.
