For baseball fans, there’s nothing better than being at a game.

On Wednesday, 96-year-old Oleda Wickersheim got the chance to attend, thanks to the Dream Foundation. The California based organization helps grant wishes for hospice patients.

  • Longtime baseball fan Oleda Wickersheim, 96, attended a Rays game
  • Thanks to the Dream Foundation, the hospice patient got to meet-and-greet the players

Wickersheim has been a Rays fan since the franchise’s started, never missing a televised game.

“As long as I can remember my mom and dad watched them," said Oleda's daughter, Carol Allen. "Back when they were the Devil Rays. And still, even after dad passed 10 years ago, she still watches every game.”

Before the team took the field, Wickersheim and her family got a chance to meet the players and get some autographs.

Oleda calls herself a good luck charm and, true to her word, the Rays beat the Red Sox 4-0.
