Two people, including a 6-year-old boy, were seriously injured in a four-vehicle car accident Saturday night. Several others suffered minor injuries.

  • Crash occurred on U.S. 19 and Lime Street
  • Drugs or alcohol do not appear to factor in the crash, according to investigators

The crash happened on U.S. 19 and Lime Street in Tarpon Springs.

According to police, a 2014 Toyota Tundra pickup truck turned onto U.S. 19 northbound from Oakwood Street, crossing all four lanes in order to get into the left turn lane at Lime Street.

The driver was struck by a northbound 2004 Ford F150 pickup driven by a woman with three female passengers.

The impact between the two trucks caused the Toyota to roll and cross the median into southbound traffic, striking a southbound vehicle.

This vehicle, a 2002 Lincoln Navigator, was driven by a man with a 6-year-old boy and another unknown age female.

The driver and the boy were airlifted to area hospitals with serious injuries. The female passenger was transported by ground with non-life threatening injuries.

A fourth vehicle involved in the crash had minor damage and no injuries.

The driver of the Toyota suffered minor injuries and was taken to the hospital by family members. The driver of the ford was transported by ground with non-life threatening injuries. The other three passengers (Ford) suffered minor injuries and were released from the scene.

At this point, police said it does not appear that drugs or alcohol were a factor in the accident.
