Dunedin High School’s class of 2016 is seeing double and triple.

Of the 300 students who walked across the stage at Ruth Eckerd Hall on Wednesday, there are five sets of twins and one set of triplets.

  • 5 sets of twins, one set of triplets graduated Wednesday
  • Many, including the triplets, will be pursuing their higher education together

Triplets Briana, Erika and Angela Dean said they do everything together.

"We get ready together, we share a bathroom, a car, a dog together,” the triplets said in unison. They are also all going to college together next year at Santa Fe College in Gainesville.

The Dean triplets are best friends with identical twins Catherine and Christina Lovera.

"We call ourselves 'full house,'” Catherine Lovera said.

According to the Lovera sisters, being a twin made the graduation ceremony a little less nerve-wracking.

"You don’t get nervous because you have someone to be around,” Catherine said.

“Like right now, we are going to walk on stage and she’s right behind me,” Christina said.

Catherine and Christina will also be going to college together at St. Petersburg College.

Student Government President John Andrade thanked his twin brother during his speech at graduation.

“Shout out to my twin brother right over there,” Andrade joked.

Salutatorian James Gray is also a twin. He said he and his fraternal twin sister, Nellie, are very different and aren’t as close as some of the other twins.

"I feel like it doesn’t so much matter when you’re not identical,” James said. “We are in the same grade, but other than that, there’s like nothing really special there."

While some of the multiples are sticking together after high school, others are taking more individual paths. James is going to Florida State University while Nellie plans on attending Eckerd College in the fall.
