Here's the Bay Area weather forecast for Friday and into the weekend:

Showers and thunderstorms got off to an early start today with development along the Nature Coast around noon.  Expect numerous showers and thunderstorms to continue into the evening.  Some could be heavy.  Rain chances will gradually focus inland this evening.

Thunderstorms will move westward out into the Gulf of Mexico tonight with skies becoming mostly clear to partly cloudy overnight. Low temperatures will be in the low 70s to 80 degrees.

This weekend we can expect more scattered afternoon thunderstorms each day.  Rain chances will be about 40% for both days.

Saturday and Sunday the temperatures will remain near to a couple of degrees above normal with daytime highs from near 90 along the coast to the lower and mid 90s inland, while overnight lows will be in the 70s to around 80 degrees.

A tropical wave could bring rain chance back up again on Monday to around 50 or 60 percent.
