The Spring Hill Dixie Baseball team is heading to the Dixie World Series for the third time in a row.

In 2014 they lost in the finals, but won it all in 2015. Their goal now is back-to-back championships. The players are 13 and 14 years old.

“It would mean the world to me to get this for the second time,” said second baseman David Abbadessa. “There are not many teams that have ever done that before."

The team is going to pack up and hit the road early next month. The series is being held in Louisiana.

Joe Abbadessa is the team's head coach and the president of the league. He says winning a World Series is a big deal. Twelve Dixie Youth League teams from 11 states battle it out.

“We are probably going to be one of the favorites up there,” Abbadessa said. “We have the talent to do it. If we can just execute how we typically play, I feel good about our chances."

Luis Ortiz plays center field and does some pitching. He's a teen of few words, but it is clear he wants to win it all again.

“A lot,” Ortiz said.

The team is looking for some help. We're told it is going to cost about $8,000 for their trip.
