Here's the Bay Area weather forecast for Sunday and into Monday:

  • Partly sunny skies
  • Scattered showers and thunderstorms
  • High temperatures in the low 90s

A few storms are possible tonight in the Gulf and along the coast. There will still be some clouds around, but locations that received rain today will have already hit their low temperatures, which will be in the mid to upper 70s. A few showers or storms could start near the coast around daybreak Monday morning.

Surface high pressure will be nearby, keeping our winds southeast but light.  Daytime heating and sea breeze/outflow interactions will cause scattered showers and thunderstorms. These showers and storms will generally be in the afternoon to early evening.

By late Monday, the upper level low that has been overhead over the last day or so will move west into the Gulf.  Upper level high pressure moves back in overhead.

This pattern of southeast winds will continue through Tuesday. By Wednesday, the surface high pressure moves even closer, keeping winds even lighter. The sea breeze will still develop storms, but drier air overhead will limit the coverage.
