According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, the shooting stemmed from a drug deal.

Deputies said Ivonne Rivera-Ramis was sitting in a vehicle with a passenger at the Rivergate Apartment complex at 7700 Rivergate Drive when several shots were fired.

Rivera-Ramis, who drove away from the apartment after the shooting, may have been targeted by at least one gunman, authorities said. The pair drove to a nearby McDonald's at 1002 S. 78th St., where they called 911.

Rivera-Ramis died before paramedics arrived at the scene.

Sheriff's department detectives said narcotics were involved and that this was not a random shooting.
