A Titusville woman led deputies on an 18-mile chase Thursday night before she was arrested, the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office said.

Allison Cooper, 35, faces several charges including, fleeing to elude with reckless disregard, resisting with violence and aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer.

The incident started just after 11 p.m. on U.S. Highway 19 and Moog Road.  Deputies said Cooper was driving recklessly on the road. When they tried to stop her, she kept driving north.

Cooper then stopped her car near Main Street. Deputies tried to get closer, but they say she sped off, hitting a patrol car in the process. The patrol car was not occupied at the time.

Deputies deployed stop sticks and deflated the vehicle’s front tires.

Deputies say Cooper drove a total of 18 miles before turning down a dead end road near Pasco-Hernando State College’s Spring Hill Campus.

Cooper refused to comply with deputies, so they used force to enter the vehicle through a window.  Deputies used pepper spray and a Taser before arresting Cooper.

She was taken to the Land O’ Lakes Detention Center on a $27,000 bond.
