A man said that he met someone and ended up getting shot in the chest, St. Petersburg Police Department stated.
The 29-year-old man walked to the 4700 block of 23rd Avenue South to meet another man at around 3:50 a.m. on Monday.
But during the meeting, which police believe may have been drug-related, the 29-year-old man was shot in the chest, officials stated.
The victim ran from the area and called the police department and he was eventually taken to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg for non-life threatening injuries, police stated.
There is no further information at this time.
