The Florida Highway Patrol responded to a serious crash in Pasco County on Wednesday involving a fire truck and a van carrying at least one small child.
The driver of the van, along with two of the passengers, were taken to the hospital under trauma alert – two via Bayflite.Two Pasco County firefighters were also taken to the hospital. They’re both said to be in stable condition.

Around 12:30 p.m. authorities say a truck from Pasco County Fire Rescue's Station No. 21 was struck by a 1995 Chevy Astro van, driven by Virginia Marie Davidson, 65, near Altoona Avenue and State Road 52 in New Port Richey. Davidson was taken to Bayonet Point Hospital.
Passengers Theresa Morrow, 24, and Kaitlyn Placaeres, 4, were both Bayflited. Michael Lang, 28, who was also in the car, did not appear to be injured according to reports.
According to reports, the fire truck was traveling eastbound in the inside lane on SR-52, approaching the intersection of Altoona Avenue when Davidson missed a stop sign, causing the truck to strike the left side of her vehicle.
Troopers say the van rotated counter clockwise and traveled south across SR-52. Immediately following the impact, the van reportedly hit a concrete curb.
