One Pasco woman is hoping to reunite some old wedding photos with their rightful family.

  • Healthcare worker trying to find former patient's family
  • Lynnette Mitchell still has Joan Piacente's wedding photos
  • No one claimed the photos when Piacente died in 2005

Joan Piacente was one of Lynnette's Mitchell first residents when she started working at an assisted living facility more than 10 years ago.

"I was new in that field," Mitchell said. "I took a real liking to her."

Mitchell took care of Piacente while she worked at The Cottages of Port Richey, an assisted living facility. She knew Piacente for about a year. They grew close.

When Piacente died in 2005, it was Mitchell who was by her bedside.

"I leaned down to kiss her goodbye on the forehead, she opened her eyes and within 30 seconds she passed away," Mitchell said. "It was really hard when I did lose her. It was like I lost my grandmother."

After Piacente died, no one claimed a trio of framed wedding photos. Mitchell brought them home, hoping to find a relative. She hopes now, through social media and the news, she will be able to get the photos to Joan's loved ones.

"I think that they're special," she said. "They're beautiful pictures. I just can't toss them out. They have to mean something to somebody."

If you think you could help,  Mitchell asked that you message her on Facebook.
