According to the Florida Highway Patrol, James Aaron Hope was struck and killed by a vehicle at the intersection of Dale Mabry Highway and Lambright Street at 8:40 p.m.
Troopers said Hope was riding his bike in the southbound direction on a raised median on Dale Mabry and, for some reason, turned into the path of a Hyundai Santa Fe SUV.
Hope was struck by the Hyundai and ejected from his bike.
The Hyundai was then struck from behind by a Toyota Corolla, which forced the Hyundai on top of Hope, pinning him underneath. He died at the scene.
There were no other injuries.
