With Florida's Primary Election just 10 days away, early voting began in Polk County on Saturday.

There are nine different early voting locations around the county:

  • Polk Street Community Center – Bartow
  • Elections Branch office at Deer Creek Crossings – Davenport
  • Haines City Library – Haines City
  • Simpson Park Community Center – Lakeland
  • Polk County Govt. Center – Lakeland
  • Elections Branch office at Orange Grove Shopping Center – Lake Wales
  • Mulberry Civic Center – Mulberry
  • Poinciana Community Center – Poinciana
  • Gill Jones Center NE Polk County Govt. Center – Winter Haven

These early voting sites will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily, from August 20 - August 27.

Polk County voters will weigh in on a number of local races, including county commission, judge, school board  and Lake Region Lakes Management District seats. They'll also select their party candidate for United States Senator and  U.S. Representative District 9, along with their candidate for State Representative District 41.

The primary ballot also features a vote on a constitutional amendment regarding exemption from certain taxation and assessment for solar panels and renewable energy collection devices.

Polk County voters have through August 24 to request for a main-in ballot for the August 30 statewide primary election.
