The 12-page report, released Monday and linked below, goes into disturbing detail about what happened June 14, when Lane Graves was killed at Seven Seas Lagoon.

His father, Matt Graves, suffered injuries while trying to fend off the gator.

According to the report, Lane was playing in the sand and using a bucket to get water from the lagoon. He was not more than ankle deep in the water when he bent down.

That's when an alligator, the report says, "seized Lane by the head and neck, one tooth puncturing the top of his skull, and one puncturing the center of the neck."

Matt Graves put his hands into the gator's mouth and tried to pull it open, but the gator broke his grasp and went under the water.

In its conclusion statements, the report said: "We find that the behaviors of the animal at the time of the attack are indicative of predatory intent. There is nothing to suggest provocation on the part of the victim or defensive action by the animal such as a bite and release.

"The victim’s small size and position (bent down) at the time of the attack would appear to the alligator similar to many of its normal food sources."

The Graves family was vacationing from Nebraska when the incident occurred.

"We continue to pray for the Graves family," said FWC Director Nick Wiley. "FWC would like to thank Disney and our partners at the Orange County Sheriff's Office for the professional collaboration on this thorough investigation. Our agency will continue to work to keep families informed on how they can safely enjoy all that Florida has to offer."
