Volunteers from Pinellas Park are back in the Bay area after helping flood victims from Louisiana.

  • Taking it to the Streets Ministries help flood victims
  • Team helped feed nearly 1,500 people hot meals
  • Dropped off food and other supplies

Taking it to the Streets Ministries, led by Pastor Joe Brockman (pictured in white shirt), brought two truckloads of food and water to the City of Lafayette.

“You’re just saying when does it end and it’s like it never ends,” Brockman said of the floodwaters.

The team helped feed nearly 1,500 people hot meals on Saturday, then dropped off thousands of pounds of food and other supplies to an area warehouse before heading home.

Despite the heartbreaking loss the volunteers witnessed firsthand, Brockman said the love and compassion shown between the volunteers and complete strangers was inspiring.

“It was a life changing event for me,” Brockman said.

Taking it to the Streets Ministry volunteers are already planning another trip to help out in Louisiana.  Brockman hopes to make that happen in the next couple of weeks.

For those who want to contribute, supplies can be donated at their Pinellas Park location and contributions can also be made through the ministry’s GoFundMe page
