Major changes are underway at the historic Fenway Hotel in Dunedin. The site is set to be the new international headquarters for the Taoist Tai Chi Society.

  • Fenway Hotel in Dunedin under renovation
  • Hotel’s historic facade being kept intact
  • Hotel will have 80 plus rooms, expected to be finished by spring

“This is going to be a very unique place,” said Robert Reardon, leader of the society’s Dunedin chapter.

The hotel, which will be open to the public, is set to have 80 plus rooms, a restaurant and rooftop bar overlooking the water.

Meanwhile, the hotel’s historic facade is being kept intact.

“One of the things we hear a lot is people who do drive by, they don’t see a lot of change,” Reardon said.

The Taoist Tai Chi Society, who partnered with Mainsail Lodging and Development on the project, expects the hotel to be finished by late next spring.

For those interested in learning more about the society, the next open house is Monday, August 22nd from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
