In response to the potential weather upcoming this week, sandbags are available to residents across the Bay area. Here are locations:   

Pinellas County

  • John Chesnut Sr. Park, 2200 East Lake Road in Palm Harbor
  • Lealman Community Park, 3890 55th Ave. N. in St. Petersburg
  • Taylor Park, 1100 Eighth Ave. S.W. in Largo
  • City Adamek Building, 7780 60th Street N, Pinellas Park (Up to 10 bags)

Sandbags will be limited to 20 per person. Material and bags will be supplied. Residents must fill their own sandbags. Shovels will be available. The sandbag distribution will be open during daylight hours.

Tampa

Hillsborough County is making sandbag materials available to the public at all three County Public Works Service Units.
 

  • Bobby Hicks Pool - 4201 W. Mango Ave
  • Barksdale Active Adult Center at MacFarlane Park - 1801 N. Lincoln Ave.
  • Jackson Heights Community Center - 3310 E. Lake Avenue
  • West Service Unit - 9805 Sheldon Road in Tampa
  • South Service Unit -  8718 Old Big Bend Road in Gibsonton
  • East Service Unit - 4702 Sydney Road in Plant City

Materials will be available for Hillsborough County residents to make their own sandbags. Each resident must sign their name and provide their home address acknowledging the receipt of 25 sandbags or less.

Pasco County  

Sandbag operations will begin today, Monday August 29, 2016. The following location will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. until further notice:

  • West Pasco Government Center, 7356 State Street, New Port Richey

This sandbag location is self-serve and is open to Pasco County residents. Sandbags are provided, but residents are encouraged to bring their own shovels.

The cities of New Port Richey and Dade City are also opening sandbag operations for city residents at the following locations, which are open daily from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.:

  • 6240 Pine Hill Road, New Port Richey (self-serve)
  • 38042 Pasco Ave., Dade City (self-serve)

Oldsmar

Oldsmar Sand Bag Stations now open for Oldsmar residents only.  Bag limit 20 per address.  Photo ID with Oldsmar address will be required. Self-service Stations located at east parking lot next to City Hall, 100 State Street West AND north tip of Pine Avenue; just past Cypress Forest Recreation Center.  Each station will have one City employee on-site from 7:30am-7:00pm.  Final date TBD. Citrus County

The Citrus County Department of Public Works will be opening two sand bag filling locations; Thursday, September 1, from 10:00am to 3:00pm.

The addresses are as follows:  4508 S Grandmarch Ave. Homosassa and 7490 W Gulf to Lake Hwy. Crystal River. Friday’s opening will be dependent on storm updates. Updates and information will also be made on Facebook and Twitter throughout the event duration.

Hernando County

A limited supply will also be available to residents starting today, Monday, August 29, 2016, at Hernando County Fire Station #1 located at 1479 Parker Avenue Spring Hill, FL 34606. Sand and sandbags will be available from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Please bring your own shovel to use.
