After traveling all over the country, the Olympic flame made it to Rio De Janeiro. The torch was taken over by boat and then given to the city’s mayor.

As the torch travels across the city for the next three days, the venues are getting their final touches. There are 32 venues in Rio, plus five additional soccer stadiums across the country.

The opening ceremony will take place this Friday. Expect to see swimmer Michael Phelps carrying the American flag. Phelps is the most decorated Olympian of all time with 22 career Olympic medals.

And even though the opening ceremony doesn’t take place until Friday, the games are getting underway Wednesday.

The U.S. women’s national soccer team’s first game is Wednesday at 6 p.m. Team USA is going for its fourth consecutive gold medal and will be playing New Zealand in a group match.
