A mail-order prescription service based in Southwest Florida has announced that it will sell children's EpiPens at cost until September 9.

Discount Med Direct owner Judy Vobroucek said she decided to make this ‘Back to School’ offer as an effort to help uninsured or under-insured families struggling to pay for this life-saving device for their children.

According to a press release by Discount Med Direct, the cost of Epipens has inexplicably risen 600 percent in the past decade. The life-saving medication currently costs over $600 for a twin pack.

Discount Med Direct is offering the same twin pack for $146.64, including shipping. A single EpiPen syringe is offered at $99.99, which also includes shipping. A valid prescription is needed.
