There will be mostly cloudy skies overnight into early Tuesday morning with more waves of rain and storms coming in from the gulf.

  • Flood Watch for Citrus, Hernando, and Pasco counties through Tuesday evening
  • More waves of rain and storms Tuesday from Gulf

There will be times when the rain is heavy and times when there is no rain with just clouds. Morning low temperatures will be in the low to mid 70s.

The flood watch remains in effect for counties from Tampa northward. So for the water soaked areas of Citrus, Hernando, Pasco, and Pinellas county there will be areas of localized flooding at times when the rain is coming down heaviest.

Luckily this summer has not been that wet before this recent spell so for most areas the ground can take most of this rain and soak it in.

Tuesday will again feature waves of moisture coming in from the Gulf with heavy downpours at times. The heaviest amounts will again tend to be for coastal counties from Tampa northward.

That will help to keep highs in the mid 80s, yet again below average for the fifth straight day.

South to southwest winds are increasing to 10-20 mph with waves of 2 to 3 feet near the coast. There is a high risk of rip currents for the Tampa Bay beaches today through this evening.

Low pressure is over North Florida while high pressure remains across the southern part of the state.

Given the deep moisture in place along with energy provided by an upper low, rain is likely through Tuesday.

High temperatures will be below normal due to clouds and rain. Most areas will be in the low to mid 80s.

Low temperatures will be in the 70s.
