A man was taken to an area hospital early Thursday after a crash that ended with a bee attack.

According to Largo Fire Rescue, a traffic crash on Ridge Road and 119th Terrace in Largo ended with a vehicle striking a tree. That may have disturbed a bee's nest as the man in the vehicle was swarmed.
The man was taken to the hospital as a trauma alert.
Officials said a second person was slightly injured, although that person refused treatment.
The bees were quickly cleared from the area.
