Manatee County is taking applications for four upcoming vacancies on the Children’s Services Advisory Board (CSAB). The all-volunteer board makes recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners about priorities and expenditures of the County’s dedicated millage for children’s services.

The CSAB meets on the third Wednesday of each month at 3 p.m. on the fourth floor of the Manatee County Administrative Center, 1112 Manatee Ave. W., Bradenton.  Weekly meetings are held during the annual program funding review process from March through May.

The open seats on the CSAB are for three year terms that begin Oct. 1.  To qualify for consideration, applicants must be residents of Manatee County. The vacancies include:

• One criminal justice representative;
• One physician, preferably a pediatrician; and
• Two child advocates, not affiliated with any agency receiving county funds.  Employees, owners or voting board members of agencies that receive funding from Manatee County, or individuals that contract with agencies that receive County funding, are not eligible to serve as a child advocate on this advisory board.  *One of the two child advocate positions will fulfill two years of a remaining term of a CSAB member who is vacating the seat.

The deadline for applications is 4 p.m., Friday, Aug. 26.  Applications must include:  1) Advisory Board Application, 2) Children’s Services Advisory Board Supplemental Questions, and 3) a resume or C.V.  The application and supplemental questionnaire may be obtained online at www.mymanatee.org/advisory_boards.
