A motorcyclist is in critical condition after a crash in Pinellas County launched him from his bike. 

  • Richard Peterson, 41, was taken to Bayfront in critical condition
  • Crash occurred just after 6 p.m. Tuesday night
  • At this time no criminal charges are associated with this case

According to the Pinellas Park Police Department, Richard Peterson, 41, was driving his motorcycle near the western entrance of the Home Depot on 73rd Avenue North when a car pulled out in front of him.

Peterson was reportedly launched from his 2000 Honda motorcycle.

He was not wearing a helmet. After the crash, he was taken to Bayfront.  The other driver and his passenger weren’t injured.

Peterson, however, reportedly suffered severe injuries. He remains in critical condition.  There are no criminal charges associated with this investigation, though officers say traffic citations are pending.
