City police said a man who had been stabbed several times ran into traffic on Martin Luther King Street, with officers closing the stretch of road.
It happened about 12:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Police said the man was taken to Bayfront Medical Center. He has non-life-threatening stab wounds.
Authorities detained and questioned a person of interest but released him.
MLK St. was closed between 49th and 50th Avenue North during the investigation, which is still under way.
