The westbound lanes of State Road 60 near Belcher Road were closed for hours after a fatal pedestrian crash Thursday morning.
According to Clearwater Police, Jonathan Ring Hibbard was struck by a vehicle near the intersection just before 6 a.m.
The roadway was reopened to traffic just after 9 a.m.
Police said Hibbard, 66, was pushing an empty wheelchair across the street when he was struck by a van in the middle westbound lane.
The accident happened fewer than 100 yards from the intersection, where there is a marked crosswalk and traffic signals, authorities said.
The crash remains under investigation.
