A fatal crash involving a pedestrian is being investigated in Lakeland.

According to Lakeland police, 63-year-old Glenn Gillenwater was struck by a pickup truck and killed Tuesday afternoon. The crash happened at Harden Boulevard near Ariana Street.
Police said the driver of the truck, 26-year-old Michael Duey was traveling southbound on Harden Boulevard when his truck began to swerve for unknown reasons, drove up onto the raised shoulder and struck Gillenwater who was walking on the sidewalk.
Duey’s truck continued down an embankment and struck two trees before coming to a rest. Duey was treated for minor injuries.
No charges have been filed at this time.
The Lakeland Police Department Traffic Homicide team is continuing to investigate.
