A Hernando County patrol car was fired at during an investigation in the South Brooksville area.

The sheriff's office said deputies were patrolling the South Brooksville area Wednesday around 11 p.m. when they attempted a traffic stop on a black Toyota. 

Deputies said the driver fled in the vehicle and the front seat passenger fled on foot. 

While investigating the incident, officials said the patrol car that the deputies were in was fired at. No one was injured. 

Two people are currently in custody and one other is being sought. 

No other information has been released on the incident at this time. 

The investigation is ongoing.
