Cameron Fuller was hit while he was riding a bike with a friend near his house Saturday night.

The Florida Highway Patrol said Fuller was in a crosswalk at the intersection of U.S. 41 and State Road 674 when the accident happened.

The driver fled the scene, leaving Fuller injured in the road. As of Monday night, Fuller was in serious but stable condition, according to FHP.

"I want them caught. I want them to come forward and at least say 'I'm sorry,'" said Richard Fuller, the boy's father.

The family said the bike had been a Christmas present.

"Everything he had with him was from Christmas. He had his new clothes on, his new phone, his new bicycle and everything got destroyed," said Natasha Wood, his mother.

Fuller is at Tampa General Hospital. The family said he has internal injuries and head trauma, but they are hopeful he will recover.

"I have faith that he's going to fight through this and come home to us," Wood said.

Witnesses said the vehicle involved was a green Chevrolet Suburban. Troopers said it's likely the vehicle has damage to the left front headlight area.

A $3,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest. Anyone with information is being asked to call FHP at 813-631-4020 or Crime Stoppers.
