A 54-year-old Bradenton woman has been arrested on scheming to defraud charges.

The Bradenton Police Department said Maureen Maloney was using the name of a live in disabled veteran to collect donations for his medical care.
The investigation began in May 2016, and over the last 8 months, detectives located twelve potential victims who gave the suspect cash donations.
Detectives spoke with the disabled veteran who said he was not living with Maloney, nor was he asking for donations for his medical care.
Maloney was arrested on Monday, January 19.
