A 36-year-old man was seriously injured Friday night in a shooting in Dade City.

The Dade City Police Department is seeking the public's help in the investigation of the shooting in the 37000 block of Moceri Avenue. 

According to police, Bilal Adurraheem Belle, of Brandon, had attended a wake at a home on Moceri Avenue. There was a large crowd which had spilled out across a number of the yards in the neighborhood.

Officers said there were calls about shots being fired at 11:35 p.m. 

When authorities arrived, they found Belle on the ground suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body. Belle was transported to Lakeland Regional Hospital where he underwent surgery. He remains in critical condition.
