The tornado watches for our area are all over, but we may experience some coastal flooding in the wake of tonight's weather. Here's your forecast for the overnight hours heading into Monday and the work week.

  • Strong Onshore Winds Continue
  • Coastal Flooding May Continue
  • Dangerous Conditions at the Beaches and over the Gulf

Since winds shifted westerly in the evening, minor coastal flooding is possible for the next couple of high tides. The cold front will continue moving southeast and into the Atlantic through Monday morning.

With the upper trough still to our west, upper level energy will still pass overhead. This may touch off a couple storms before daybreak.

Otherwise lingering showers will continue to be possible into Monday early afternoon before all of the rain finally comes to an end in the afternoon. Drier air moves in, but winds stay strong out of the west-northwest. A High Surf Advisory is in effect into Tuesday.

The strong onshore flow will support dangerous marine conditions over the Gulf waters, where frequent wind gusts over gale force along with seas into the 10 to 15 foot range will be likely. The strong onshore flow will also bring a continued threat of some minor coastal flooding at times of high tides into Monday.

Expect a high risk of rip currents along area beaches. Monday's high temperatures will be in the upper 60s to near 70 with mostly cloudy skies, gusty winds and a few showers.

During Tuesday and Wednesday winds will diminish as high pressure builds in. By late Wednesday, high pressure will shift east into the Atlantic as another cold front approaches from the west.
