What started as an unexpected good deed from one little boy, created a future of hope for two families, and an unbreakable bond.

  • Legoland steps in following GOOD NEWS story
  • Richard Gallop, 17, was accepted to Southeastern University
  • Jeffrey Holz, 8, got the Lego set he always wanted

Jeffrey Holz, 8, had been saving up for a firefighter Lego set for months. Earlier this month, as he was just a few dollars short of the $100 goal, he decided to donate his money to a teen in his school who has been battling cancer.

The team at Legoland heard the story and decided to show up at Community Christian School in Bradenton on Tuesday morning. They presented Jeffrey with the Lego set he had been saving for, as well as tickets to Legoland for his whole family.

That wasn't the only surprise. When representatives from Richard Gallop, 17, dream college, Southeastern University took the stage, all eyes were on him.

They not only announced that Richard was accepted into the university, but that they would cover a significant portion of his tuition.

The gesture made the teen's dreams of going to college in August a reality.

"It was kind of conflicting with hospital bills and such, so I wasn't sure I could go in the fall," said Richard. "I was gonna have to go later on [...] so I'm just thankful to Southeastern to accept me and now I can attend in the fall."

Richard was also presented with four passes to the Arnold Palmer Invitational and new golf accessories, thanks to Coca-Cola.

"Good things are happening in the world, and in spite of everything that we see around us, we know that there's just good things and good people," said Richard's mom Jennifer.
