Despite record ticket prices, there will be plenty of seats taken at Raymond James Stadium on Monday night.

The average resale price of a ticket to the Alabama-Clemson game in Tampa is more than $2,000, according to TicketIQ, which tracks ticket sales.

That's a record for the College Football Playoff National Championship game.

The current average price is $2,057, and the cheapest ticket is $750 based on TicketIQ data, which aggregates more than 90 percent of the secondary market, including the official CFP secondary exchange, powered by Ticketmaster.

Part of the reason for the demand, ticket experts say, is Tampa is the shortest distance for two schools since 2012.

Both Tuscaloosa, Alabama and Clemson, South Carolina are less than 600 miles from Tampa. Also creating demand is the rematch factor: Alabama got by Clemson 45-40 at last year's championship game.
