The family of a missing Tampa woman finally has closure with the confirmation of her death after a 40 year search.

Brenda Williams, 22, went missing back in 1978. Her family said they've been searching for her ever since.

Her two sisters attended a forensics conference last year hoping their sister was among the unidentified women found years ago. She wasn't, but by submitting their DNA, investigators were able to link it to remains found by a young boy in an empty lot near Ybor City back in 1986.

"Here it is, 1986 they found her remains," said Sharon Scott, Williams' sister. "She was missing since 78'. Here it is 2017, and her jaw bone was in the medical examiner's office all of this time and that part tore me up."
